Germany Current Account Surplus Widens in October
Germany's current account surplus increased to EUR 22.7 billion in October 2019 from EUR 20.3 billion in the corresponding month of the previous year, and above market expectations of a EUR 19.5 billion surplus. The goods surplus rose to EUR 22.5 billion from EUR 19.9 billion while the primary income surplus was unchanged at EUR 9.0 billion. Meantime, the secondary income gap went up to EUR 4.5 billion from EUR 4.3 billion a year ago, while the services deficit stood at EUR 4.3 billion. Considering January to October period, the current account surplus widened to EUR 212.6 billion from EUR 200.1 billion in 2018.

German Posts Largest Current Account Surplus in 6 Months
Germany's current account surplus increased sharply to EUR 25.5 billion in September 2019 from EUR 18.9 billion in the same month the preceding year. This was the largest current account surplus since March, as the goods surplus surged to EUR 22.9 billion from EUR 16.4 billion and the primary income surplus rose to EUR 9.2 billion from EUR 8.7 billion. Meanwhile, the secondary income gap fell to EUR 3,4 billion from EUR 3.6 billion a year ago, while the services deficit went up to EUR 3.2 billion from EUR 2.6 billion. Considering January to August, the current account surplus rose to EUR 190.7 billion from EUR 179.8 billion in the same period of 2018.

Germany's current account surplus increased to EUR 16.9 billion in August 2019 from EUR 15.2 billion in the same month the preceding year, as the goods surplus widened to EUR 17.0 billion from EUR 15.9 billion and the primary income surplus rose to EUR 9.1 billion from EUR 8.6 billion. Meanwhile, the secondary income gap increased to EUR 4.2 billion from EUR 3.6 billion a year ago, while the services deficit went down to EUR 5.0 billion from EUR 5.7 billion. Considering January to August, the current account surplus increased to EUR 164.9 billion from EUR 159.6 billion in the same period of 2018.

German Current Account Surplus Soars in July
Germany's current account surplus increased to EUR 22.1 billion in July 2019 from EUR 13.9 billion in the same month the preceding year, as the goods surplus widened noticeably to EUR 23.4 billion from EUR 15.3 billion and the primary income surplus rose to EUR 8.7 billion from EUR 8.1 billion. Meanwhile, the secondary income gap was unchanged at EUR 4.6 billion, while the services deficit went up slightly to EUR 5.4 billion from EUR 4.9 billion a year ago. Considering January to July, the current account surplus increased to EUR 148.8 billion from EUR 144.4 billion in the same period of 2018.

German Current Account Surplus Narrows in June
Germany's current account surplus decreased to EUR 20.6 billion in June 2019 from EUR 24.8 billion in the same month of the previous year. The goods surplus declined to EUR 18.1 billion from EUR 20.7 billion a year earlier, while the secondary income gap rose to EUR 3.3 billion from EUR 2.8 billion and the services gap went up to EUR 2.9 billion from EUR 1.5 billion. Meanwhile, the primary income surplus rose to EUR 8.8 billion from EUR 8.4 billion. Considering January to June, the current account surplus narrowed to EUR 126.4 billion from EUR 130.6 billion in the same period of 2018.

German Current Account Surplus Widens in May
Germany's current account surplus increased to EUR 16.5 billion in May 2019 from EUR 13.0 billion in the same month of the previous year. The goods surplus rose to EUR 21.3 billion from EUR 19.1 billion a year earlier and the secondary income surplus rose to EUR 0.5 billion from EUR 0.1 billion. In addition, the primary income deficit fell to EUR 4.2 billion from EUR 4.9 billion and the services gap declined to EUR 1.1 billion from EUR 1.4 billion. Considering January to May, the current account surplus widened to EUR 106.4 billion from EUR 105.8 billion in the same period of 2018.
