Taiwan Industrial Output Rebounds in November
Taiwan's industrial production increased by 2.15 percent year-on-year in November 2019, compared to a revised 2.64 percent drop in the previous month, boosted by a rebound in manufacturing output (2.29 percent vs -3.05 percent) in particular electronic parts & components (9.18 percent vs -1.58 percent). Production also rose for computers, electronic & optical products (29.08 percent vs 19.05 percent), motor vehicles & parts (5.54 percent vs 1.92 percent). By contrast, there was a contraction in chemical, fertilizers, nitrogen compounds, plastic & rubber, man-made fibres (-7.13 percent vs -4.74 percent), petroleum & coal products (-10.44 percent vs -14.57 percent), basic metals (-11.31 percent vs -14.12 percent), fabricated metal products (-12.94 percent vs -10.55 percent), and machinery & equipment (-20.95 percent vs -18.11 percent).

Taiwan Industrial Output Shrinks the Most in 7 Months
Industrial production in Taiwan declined 2.92 percent year-on-year in October of 2019, following a downwarly revised 0.68 percent fall in September. It is the biggest annual decrease since March, due to further drops in manufacturing (-3.3 percent compared to -0.5 percent in September) and mining (-13.2 percent compared to -10.5 percent). On the other hand, electricity and gas supply rebounded (2.5 percent compared to -2.5 percent) and water supply rose at a faster pace (4.5 percent compared to 1.1 percent). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output was nearly flat, after a 2.2 percent decrease.

Taiwan Industrial Output Falls the Most in 4 Months
Industrial output in Taiwan fell 0.75 percent year-on-year in September 2019, following an upwardly revised 2.35 percent gain in the previous month. Production dropped in manufacturing (-0.65 percent from 2.24 percent in August) and electricity & gas supply output (-1.56 percent from 4.67 percent). Also, mining & quarrying output declined further (-7.99 percent from -7.70 percent). On the other hand, production of water supply rebounded (1.10 percent from -0.26 percent). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output went down 2.27 percent, after an upwardly revised 0.15 percent rise.

Taiwan Industrial Production Eases in August
Industrial output in Taiwan rose 2.28 percent year-on-year in August of 2019, following an upwardly revised 3.77 percent gain in the prior month. Manufacturing production went up at softer pace (2.11 percent vs 3.82 percent in July) while water supply output dropped (-0.26 percent vs 0.27 percent). Meanwhile, mining & quarrying production rebounded (0.34 percent vs -4.20 percent) while electricity & gas supply output advanced faster (5.00 percent vs 3.82 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial production went up 0.10 percent, easing from a 2.84 percent gain in July.

Taiwan Industrial Output Rebounds in July
Industrial production in Taiwan rose 3.03 percent year-on-year in July of 2019, up from an upwardly revised 0.49 percent fall in the previous month. It was the first gain in industrial activity since April, as manufacturing output rebounded (3.07 percent from -0.75 percent in June). Also, production continued to advance for electricity and gas supply (3.3 percent, the same as in June) and water supply (0.27 percent from 0.85 percent) while mining & quarrying production fell at a softer pace (-7.13 percent from -792 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial output jumped 1.92 percent, following a downwardly revised 0.67 percent in June.

Taiwan Industrial Output Shrinks for 2nd Month
Industrial production in Taiwan fell 0.39 percent year-on-year in June of 2019, following a downwardly revised 2.58 percent drop in the previous month. It was the second consecutive contraction in industrial activity, as manufacturing output continued to fall (-0.61 percent vs -2.48 percent in May). Meantime, production rebounded for mining & quarrying (3.05 vs -9.84 percent); electricity & gas supply (2.12 percent vs -3.44 percent) and water supply (0.83 percent vs -2.30 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial output increased 0.76 percent, rebounding from a 0.25 percent drop in May.
